WiFi is great when it’s fast and can be accessed from nearby. It’s only downside is that the further you are from the access point does it become harder to rely on WiFi as your speeds drop. I bought this to help with getting internet to my ROKU Streaming box that doesn’t have WiFi. It works just like connecting it straight to the modem. Just plug in both to the wall, hold the Connect button on one, then press the button on the other to pair and they’re connected. Then you plug one to your modem, and the other connects to your PC, console or other Ethernet device. This only requires that they are plugged to the wall directly. It won’t work as well or at all if you use a 3-way or surge protector. But I highly recommend this powerline adapter if you need internet at the other end of the house or on the top floors (for example).
